I spent the first half of my life dreading turning 40. To me, it seemed like the boring decade — the years I would settle for mediocre, stop dreaming and watch the world become beige. Six years into my 40s, and I know that I was so, so wrong.
I'm not settling for mediocre, I'm settling into myself. As a result, I feel like I'm living life in full, vibrant colour — no beige whatsoever. I feel like my life so far, all of its joys, tragedies, uncertainties, successes, failures, anxieties, has been gearing up for this moment, when I can finally pursue my dreams and embrace my creativity.
This is what I was reflecting on as I designed and created this wall hanging, so I'm calling it "Falling into Place."
