This improv quilt is completely made out of scrap fabric. Even the backing was salvaged from the thrift. It's my twist on more traditional quilting and the idea of making something out of nothing.
I'm calling this "Fragments 2." Fragments because the process of making it symbolizes how I'm experiencing my middle years. I feel like I'm constantly taking shards of memories and trying to piece them together to make sense of who I am now and how I want to live my life in the future. (I'm also basically making things up as I go along.) The 2 is just because this is the second quilt I've made in this style.
