During one of the darkest times of my life, I distinctly remember thinking "you're going to make something beautiful out of this destruction." I held on to that thought, reflecting on it whenever I needed encouragement or a glimmer of hope that life would change, hopefully for the better.
It's been more than a decade since that time, and I can honestly say my life has transformed into something more beautiful than I ever imagined. Sure, it hasn't been easy, but I no longer look at the devastation as the end of something, but the beginning of discovering myself, my resourcefulness and my strength. This is what I was reflecting on when I designed and made this wall hanging, so I've called it "Rise."
